Paint Louis ’98: Throwdown in the Show-Me State

In the summer of 1998, over 500 graffiti writers descended on St. Louis to paint the Mississippi River flood wall. The theme of the mural was “Armageddon,” and the results covered 1.3 miles. The event was a celebration of artistry, resilience, and the four elements of hip hop. Features performances from J-Treds, OBS (feat. Pumpkinhead + the Bad Seed), Dead Prez, Bits N Pieces, Rubberoom, Intellect MC, and DJs DP-1, B-Money, + Chilly C, including a massive (12 min.) freestyle session featuring all of these MC’s and more.

This feature documentary tells the incredible story of the wah-wah guitar pedal, from its invention in 1966 to the present day.  The film includes interviews with pedal inventor Brad Plunkett + musical luminaries such as Ben Fong-Torres, Eddie Van Halen, Slash, Buddy Guy, Art Thompson, Eddie Kramer, Kirk Hammett, Dweezil Zappa, + Jim Dunlop.

As consulting producer I provided narrative options + scripting, + managed music, image + video asset acquisitions.
